The Algerian Cycling Federation (FAC) unveiled on Tuesday the route for the 26th edition of the Tour d’Algérie 2026, scheduled from April 17 to 28, covering a total distance of 1,697.6 km.

This edition will feature elite riders representing more than 25 countries. The race will span across several Algerian Wilayas, following a diverse route starting from Oran and concluding in Tizi Ouzou.

The tour will pass through several key stages, including Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbès, Mostaganem, Chlef, Hammam Righa, and Chréa, in addition to the capital, Algiers, reflecting the country’s geographic and touristic diversity.

The Federation emphasized that this event, included in the International Cycling Union (UCI) calendar, serves as an effective tool for promoting tourism in Algeria, alongside its sporting significance. It noted that the tour will be followed by the International Grand Prix of Algeria on April 27 and 28.

As part of the preparations for this event, a comprehensive coordination meeting was held in early March under the chairmanship of Federation President Kheireddine Barbari, with the presence of relevant bodies and security representatives. The meeting addressed organizational, logistical, and security aspects, particularly regarding route safety, the reception of delegations, and technical and media coverage.

During the meeting, the detailed program of the tour was presented, along with an overview of other international events to be hosted in the capital during the month of May.

It is worth noting that the previous edition of the tour (2025) saw the crowning of Algerian cyclist Hamza Amari (Madar Pro Cycling team), while the final stage, held between Ouargla and Hassi Messaoud, was won by his compatriot Hamza Yacine.
