Hajj 2026: First Delegation of Algerian Mission Departs for Saudi Arabia

The first delegation of officials and members of the Algerian Hajj Mission for the 1447 AH/2026 season departed on Tuesday for Saudi Arabia. This move is part of the preparations to ensure a proper reception and optimal care for Algerian pilgrims, according to a statement from the National Hajj and Umrah Office (ONPO).

The delegation was seen off at Houari Boumediene International Airport by the Director General of the Office, Mr. Tahar Braik, who emphasized the "importance of coordination and collective work among the various components of the mission to contribute to the success of the season and ensure the provision of the best services to the pilgrims."

The number of Algerian pilgrims this year stands at 41,300. The first flight to the Holy Sites is scheduled to depart on April 29 from Houari Boumediene International Airport.

The statement further explained that "12 airports nationwide have been designated for transporting pilgrims, with a total of 144 flights scheduled."
