Within the framework of its firm commitment to environmental issues and rooting environmental awareness in society, Algerian Radio, represented by Channel 2, announces the launch of the sixth edition of the major citizen initiative titled "Let's Protect Our Forests."
This edition aims to consolidate the culture of preserving forest resources and the environment in our country, and to enhance community outreach and awareness-raising efforts in coordination with various actors in the field.
The events of this edition will be hosted in the Yakouren forest in Tizi Ouzou, specifically around the Tamgout hotel, this Thursday, June 4, 2026. The highlights of the event will be broadcast across 27 regional radio stations.
This initiative aims to consolidate the following:
-Awareness and Prevention: Highlight the threats facing forests and how to prevent them.
-Community Outreach: Engage all active stakeholders and emphasize hands-on fieldwork.
-Information and Investigation: Provide practical guidance and advice from experts and specialists.
Four Hours of Live Broadcasting:
To keep pace with this important environmental and civic event, Channel 2 invites its listeners to join a live broadcast on its airwaves from 2:00 PM (14:00) to 6:00 PM (18:00). This comprehensive coverage will feature a rich and diverse program.
Roundtables and Debates: Featuring the participation of numerous officials and stakeholders directly or indirectly involved in protecting forest resources and the environment, to discuss ways to preserve this natural heritage.
Local Exhibitions: Organizing diverse exhibitions highlighting the local agricultural products and traditional handicrafts that the region is renowned for.
Field-Based Environmental Activities: The initiative has programmed a large-scale cleaning campaign around the Tamgout hotel, with the participation of civil society actors.
Children's Competition: Engaging the younger generation through a special children's drawing competition centered on the environment, complete with symbolic gifts to encourage them to adopt a culture of nature preservation.
Authenticity and Heritage: The live broadcast will feature artistic and cultural segments, including poetry recitations and local heritage songs performed by creative artistic groups.
