Prime Minister Mr. Sifi Ghrieb affirmed that the launch of the site preparation works for the zinc and lead mine, located between the municipalities of Amizour and Tala Hamza in the wilaya of Bejaia, embodies the commitment of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to realize strategic projects within their set deadlines.
In a speech delivered while supervising the launch of the works, the Prime Minister explained that the President of the Republic kept his promise to launch the project at the end of March, adding that the launch was carried out in execution of his instructions aimed at revitalizing major mining projects.
He pointed out that the exploitation of this mine will contribute to strengthening Algeria's presence in the international market through the mining materials that will be produced, allowing the national economy to improve its positioning and enhance its competitiveness.
The Prime Minister added that mining materials have today become a fundamental economic pillar and an arena of fierce competition among countries possessing these resources. He stressed that Algeria has begun implementing a series of mining projects, following the launch of the Gara Djebilet project, with the process set to continue with the upcoming launch of the phosphate mine project and other anticipated ventures.
The speaker emphasized that Algeria is moving with steady steps toward breaking away from its reliance on oil rent, which is the strategic goal set by the President of the Republic within the framework of diversifying the national economy.
