The Acting President of the Independent National Authority for Elections (ANIE), Mr. Karim Khelfane, supervised this Sunday in Algiers the installation of the president and members of the campaign financing monitoring committee for the upcoming July 2 legislative elections, according to a statement issued by the Authority.
The same source explained that this installation, which comes in application of the provisions of Article 115 of the Organic Law relating to the electoral system, took place in the presence of the First President of the Supreme Court, Mr. Tahar Mamouni, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Hammadou Mohamed, the Director of Civil Affairs and State Seal at the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Ahmed Ali Mohamed Saleh, and two members of the board of the Independent Authority.
According to the statement, this committee is composed of "a judge appointed by the Supreme Court from among its magistrates, serving as president; a judge appointed by the Council of State from among its magistrates, as a member; a judge appointed by the Court of Auditors from among its counselor magistrates; a representative from the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention, and Fight against Corruption; and a representative from the Ministry of Finance."
