The State Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, chaired today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Embassy of Algeria in Brussels, a working and coordination meeting that brought him together with the heads of consular posts for the Northern Europe region, as part of the working visit he is paying to the Kingdom of Belgium.
According to a statement issued today, Tuesday, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this meeting "comes within the framework of continuing the periodic and guidance meetings held by the State Secretary with the heads of missions and consular posts abroad, in implementation of the directives of the highest authorities of the country aimed at upgrading the quality of services directed to members of the national community abroad, and strengthening the mechanisms for addressing their concerns and responding to their aspirations."
The same source added that this meeting was dedicated to reviewing the outcomes of consular activity, and assessing the progress made in implementing programs and projects aimed at updating and modernizing the consular facility, particularly through the generalization of digitization, the simplification of administrative procedures, and the improvement of reception conditions and care for citizens.
The meeting was an opportunity to evaluate the implementation level of the measures taken for the benefit of the national community residing in Northern European countries, particularly regarding the enhancement of community outreach, the intensification of communication initiatives, and the development of listening and guidance mechanisms, in a way that contributes to strengthening the bond between the community members and their motherland and enhancing their contribution to the various national development processes.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to address the ongoing preparations for the summer season, where the State Secretary issued instructions on the necessity of strengthening information and guidance mechanisms for the benefit of members of the national community, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the best conditions for receiving and accompanying them during their travel to the homeland.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the State Secretary commended the efforts made by the heads and staff of the consular posts, calling for continued work in a spirit of responsibility and dedication, to ensure better service for the national community abroad and to embody the directives of the country's highest authorities in this field.
