The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated on Monday that regarding citizens residing abroad and holding valid foreign passports, it has been decided, "on an exceptional basis," to extend the implementation of the facilitation measure currently in force. This allows their entry into and exit from the national territory without the obligation of obtaining a visa, effective until December 31, 2026.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs our fellow citizens residing abroad and holders of valid foreign passports that it has been decided, on an exceptional basis, to extend the implementation of the facilitation measure currently in force, allowing their entry into and exit from the national territory without the obligation of obtaining a visa until December 31, 2026," states a ministry communiqué. It specifies that this measure is taken "in accordance with the high instructions of the President of the Republic and his constant concern to address the concerns of members of the national community abroad, notably by facilitating their travel to the national territory."

"This facilitation measure allows beneficiaries to simply present a valid foreign passport accompanied by the national biometric passport or the biometric national identity card, even if these have expired, provided that the same documents are used upon entry and exit of the territory," the same source adds.
