Prime Minister Presides Over Installation Ceremony of Mohammed Lamine Lebbou as Governor of the Bank of Algeria

The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, presided this Wednesday in Algiers over the installation ceremony of the Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Mr. Mohammed Lamine Lebbou, appointed to this post last Monday by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Abdelkrim Bouzred, the former Interim Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Mr. Mouatassem Boudiaf, as well as directors of financial institutions and several senior executives.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of "close coordination" between the Bank of Algeria and the Ministry of Finance, regarding "major projects that will be announced soon and that require innovation." He extended his wishes for success to the new Governor and called for instilling a new dynamic in the banking sector.

For his part, the Minister of Finance highlighted the position occupied by the Bank of Algeria on the national monetary and financial scene, expressing his wish to see its approach follow the dynamic experienced by the Algerian economy.

He also expressed his confidence in Mr. Lebbou's ability to "lead this long-awaited transformation, for the benefit of the Bank of Algeria and the national economy as a whole."

In turn, the new Governor of the Bank of Algeria welcomed the trust placed in him by the President of the Republic, expressing his willingness to spare no effort to raise the institution's action to the level of Algeria's aspirations in the fields of economy and finance, while also hailing the efforts made by Mr. Mouatassem Boudiaf, the former Interim Governor.
