The Zionist occupation continued its closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the fifth consecutive day this Wednesday, according to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA).
Citing local sources, the agency reported that Zionist occupation forces prevented worshippers from entering the mosque under the pretext of declaring a state of emergency. This comes amid a heavy deployment of forces in the surrounding areas and at the gates of the Old City, effectively barring Palestinians from accessing the mosque's courtyards.
Occupation forces had closed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Saturday morning, forcing worshippers to leave and preventing them from performing the Isha and Tarawih prayers within its premises.
The closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque coincides with the Zionist occupation army's announcement of a general lockdown on the West Bank.
