The Algerian Minister of Health Receives a Delegation from the Association of Franco-Algerian Healthcare Professionals of Provence

The Minister of Health, Mohamed Seddik Ait Messaoudene, received yesterday, Sunday, a delegation from the Association of Franco-Algerian Healthcare Professionals of Provence, led by Fouzia Doghmane, a ministry statement indicated.

The meeting provided an opportunity to "examine ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, notably through the exchange of expertise and experiences, with a view to contributing to the development of the national healthcare system and improving the services offered to citizens."

In this context, emphasis was placed on "the role that scientific associations, particularly those operating abroad, can play in favor of the national healthcare system, especially in the field of geriatrics and the support of the elderly," the statement specified.

In this regard, the Minister of Health mentioned "the prospects of creating a national reference center in geriatrics," insisting on the importance of "strengthening training in this field for general practitioners."

During the meeting, Mr. Ait Messaoudene presented "a detailed overview of the state and prospects of the healthcare system in Algeria, the main ongoing reforms, and the efforts made to improve medical care," mentioning "the launch of a digital platform dedicated to Algerian doctors established abroad, to allow them to share their expertise and thus contribute to strengthening communication bridges with national competencies abroad, in the service of the healthcare system."

The minister also highlighted "the strategic importance of digitization in the health sector, notably through the widespread use of electronic medical records, with a view to enhancing transparency, improving the monitoring of patients' therapeutic journeys, and optimizing management."

For her part, Ms. Doghmane expressed "the association's full readiness to accompany and support the Algerian healthcare system, by placing Algerian expertise and competencies established abroad at the service of the sector's development, notably through strengthening the exchange of experiences and contributing to knowledge transfer, thereby participating in improving the quality of medical care."

On the same occasion, "several priority issues were examined, in particular the importance of school health in prevention and awareness."

Emphasis was also placed on "the need to develop healthcare to improve patient management, particularly for chronic diseases, to pursue coordination, and to strengthen cooperation and partnership mechanisms, within the framework of a comprehensive and sustainable vision," the same source concluded.
