As part of its cultural presence in the Arab world, Algeria is participating in the 40th edition of the Tunis International Book Fair, held from April 23 to May 3, 2026. The Algerian pavilion highlights the richness and diversity of the country's intellectual production, according to a statement from the Ministry of Culture and Arts.
Covering an area of 60 square meters, the Algerian pavilion hosts 39 public and private publishing houses, featuring 625 titles (3,188 copies) across literature, history, intellectual thought, and other fields. Additionally, 92 titles have been donated to the Embassy of Algeria in Tunis.
The pavilion received a visit from the President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kais Saied, who explored several publications and took particular interest in the works of Algerian cultural and historical icons. The visit also highlighted artistic and historical milestones in the relations between the two nations. This high-level visit served as an occasion to reaffirm the depth of bilateral relations and concluded with the presentation of a symbolic gift reflecting the strong cultural bonds between the two peoples.
Beyond the book displays, the Algerian pavilion hosts a diverse cultural program, including intellectual seminars and literary and poetry evenings throughout the duration of the fair.
