The President of the Republic of Angola, Mr. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, visited on Wednesday the Central Supply Base in the 1st Military Region, where he followed a presentation on the organization and missions of the base, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).
The same source explained that "continuing his state visit to Algeria, at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the President of the Republic of Angola, Mr. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, visited on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, accompanied by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, the Central Supply Base in the 1st Military Region. He was received by the Major General, Commander of the 1st Military Region, in the presence of the Central Director of Material and the Director of Military Industries of the Ministry of National Defense."
At the beginning of the visit, "the President was rendered military honors by formations from various branches of the People's National Army (ANP). Subsequently, the Major General, Commander of the 1st Military Region, delivered a welcoming speech, followed by a presentation by the General Manager of the Central Supply Base, detailing the base's organization and assigned tasks."
Following this, the guest of Algeria "visited various departments and workshops at the base, including the tracked vehicle renovation department and the battery production workshop, where he received detailed explanations on the operations and missions of these units."
In conclusion, "the President of the Republic of Angola signed the Golden Book of the Central Supply Base," the statement added.
