El Djeïch magazine has described the upcoming July 2 legislative elections as a crucial step in the process of consolidating the rule of law and institutions, as well as in the completion of the renewal project of the new and victorious Algeria, which is advancing with confident steps.
"In a few weeks, and on the eve of the celebration of the 64th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty, our country will vibrate to the rhythm of a major national event: the legislative elections of July 2, 2026. This rendezvous is intended to be a crucial step in the process of consolidating the rule of law and institutions, as well as in completing the renewal project of the new and victorious Algeria," reads the editorial of the latest issue of El Djeïch, under the title "Consolidation of Our Defense Capabilities: An Absolute Priority."
According to the publication, "these elections—whose security and smooth running are ensured by the People's National Army (PNA) and the various security forces to allow citizens to exercise their constitutional right and fulfill their national duty in a climate of serenity and peace—take place in a context of profound transformations, major achievements, and precious gains that our country is experiencing at all levels: economic, political, diplomatic, social, and many others."
For El Djeïch magazine, these are "developments that rightfully reflect the relentless efforts made to advance our country on the path of prosperity and progress, as affirmed by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense."
In this regard, the magazine recalled the words of the President of the Republic, who stated that "the Algeria of today is engaging in a phase whose foundation rests on a renewed approach to various issues, driven by the ambition to overcome challenges with total confidence in our capabilities and national resources, nurtured by the sincere hopes of the citizen. Our country has taken successive steps on this path, that of a victorious Algeria, faithful to its principles and consolidating its foundations by working to anchor true citizenship. Thanks to the sacrifices of its daughters and sons, it has been able to triumph," the President of the Republic had maintained.
The editorial also underlines that "it is certain that, in light of this great will and unfailing determination to persevere on this ambitious path aimed at consolidating national sovereignty and ensuring autonomy in various fields, our country will achieve the expected progress and prosperity and will consolidate the prestigious position it now occupies among the great nations."
This will is dictated, the same source adds, by "the absolute certainty that Algeria is not on the margins of History and geography, and that it can only be a major player and an indispensable partner at the regional and international levels, particularly in terms of establishing peace, security, and promoting development."
In this sense, the publication maintained that "Algeria, which has managed, throughout its glorious history, to maintain its greatness and safeguard its dignity, will remain solid and strong amidst the major geopolitical turbulence that the world is going through, with their repercussions generating tensions, fluctuations, and instability."
"A resilience it owes to its economic immunity, reinforced by the various major projects completed, to its societal cohesion, and the unity of its internal front, fully aware of the underlying motives and aims of the plots hatched against it to slow down and hinder its comprehensive renewal process, which has been conducted with steady steps in recent years. It also owes this to the high level of preparation and the constant vigilance of our Armed Forces, which remain the impregnable rampart and the solid shield against which all attempts targeting the security and stability of our country are shattered," the editorial emphasizes.
In this context, "the PNA, a worthy heir to the National Liberation Army, fully aware of the scale of current and future challenges, relentlessly pursues the strengthening of its defensive capabilities. It has taken considerable steps in recent years on the path of modernization and development of all its components, according to a thoughtful, rigorous approach adapted to the magnitude of the challenges to be met and the stakes to be won. What the battle corps possesses today in terms of great combat capabilities, high operational readiness, and major developmental milestones is the fruit of this efficient approach, based on a clairvoyant vision and an accurate reading of various events and challenges."
For the magazine, this is an "approach that has allowed our Armed Forces to reach the highest degrees of preparation and the highest levels of combat exercise. It relies on scientifically and technically qualified human resources, adapted to the nature of the assigned missions and masterfully operating the modern equipment placed at their disposal. This was evident during the tactical exercises with live ammunition executed by the different units of our Armed Forces, such as 'Fakhr 2026' and 'El-Aahd 2026,' respectively in the 3rd and 5th Military Regions." The execution of these exercises was supervised last month by Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the PNA.
For El Djeïch, these exercises reflect "our Army's determination to continue the process of developing its military capabilities in order to enable it to fully accomplish its constitutional missions, master the elements of our security, and defend our sovereignty as well as our supreme national interests."
They have also confirmed, the publication adds, "the high operational readiness enjoyed by our various units, as well as their great capacity to deal with any type of emergency in all circumstances, driven by a motivated spirit and imbued with a sense of responsibility, duty, and loyalty to the Homeland," as Army General Saïd Chanegriha stressed when addressing the "valiant men of our People's National Army."
"I am fully convinced that you will remain, as I have always known you to be, worthy of the trust placed in you by your people and your command to achieve the best results on the ground and realize the set objectives, aimed at guaranteeing the security and stability of our country. And to continue to accompany the sincere development efforts, deployed day and night, for the prosperity and rise of the new and victorious Algeria, and to lay the groundwork for its promising future and its radiant tomorrow, guided by the values of the glorious November Revolution and the sacrifices of our valiant Martyrs and our virtuous Moudjahidine," the Army General declared.
In conclusion, the El Djeïch editorial notes that "the new and victorious Algeria is advancing today with confident steps on the path of consolidating the rule of law and institutions, and completing its promising renewal project. This is thanks to the synergy of the efforts of its daughters and sons—faithful to the oath of the valiant Martyrs—and to their solidarity and cohesion, thus materializing the hopes and wishes of those who made the dearest sacrifices for it." The editorial emphasizes that "today's challenge is that of loyalty to the Homeland and the pursuit of relentless work to strengthen our comprehensive immunity, so that Algeria remains forever strong and revered, capable of protecting its potential and determined to establish its leadership, under the banner of solid national unity and an unshakable People's National Army."
