A number of children enjoyed a recreational sea cruise today, Tuesday, along the Algiers coast, starting from the El Djamila port beach in Ain Benian, to mark the celebration of African Child Day, which falls on June 16 of each year.
In a press statement on the occasion of this event, the head of the Permanent Committee for Civil Society at the National Human Rights Council, Matouk Smaoune, explained that this initiative—organized in coordination with active childhood associations—falls within the efforts of the National Human Rights Council to contribute to promoting children's rights, such as the right to recreation. It also comes in the context of measures aimed at promoting and protecting childhood.
He added that the organization of this recreational family sea cruise "included approximately 100 children from various segments of society," including children with special needs, as part of the activities programmed to commemorate African Child Day.
For his part, the president of the National Union for Persons with Disabilities, Boulebnane Haider, explained that this sea cruise provides children with the opportunity to spend enjoyable moments at sea, highlighting the union's contribution to such initiatives dedicated to children.
It is worth noting that this cruise featured several cultural, recreational, and educational activities, along with clown performances, aiming to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of these children.
