The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Ministry of the Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, announced this Wednesday the official launch of a new digital service intended for members of the national community residing abroad.

This service allows them to remotely submit their biometric passport renewal applications, as part of the implementation of the commitments of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, regarding digital transformation and the modernization of public service, according to a joint statement published this Wednesday.

The statement specified that this measure is part of the continuation of the digital transformation process and the improvement of the quality of administrative and consular services related to obtaining official documents.

It reflects the special attention given by the State to citizens established abroad and materializes the efforts deployed by the two ministerial departments to establish a modern, efficient administration that is close to the citizen.

According to the same source, this service was launched in a first phase at the Consulate General of Algeria in Paris, before being progressively generalized to all Algerian diplomatic representations and consular posts abroad.

The statement added that this service is accessible through a simplified and secure procedure, guaranteeing efficiency and speed in the processing of applications. Users can access the dedicated electronic platform via the official website of the Ministry of the Interior, create a secure personal space, submit their biometric passport renewal application, upload the required documents, and track the different stages of their file's processing until the receipt of their passport.
