The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, participated this Thursday via videoconference in the proceedings of the 49th General Assembly of the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat), according to a ministry statement.
During this General Assembly, which was dedicated to discussing activity reports, financial results, and prospects for the organization's development and modernization, the Minister emphasized "the strategic importance of Arabsat as a significant Arab achievement in the field of satellite communications, space infrastructure, and digital services with a sovereign dimension," the source explained.
Zerrouki also praised the efforts aimed at "modernizing the institutional and governance framework of this organization, allowing it to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the space and communications sector." He affirmed "the importance of preserving the spirit of Arab cooperation, the interests of contributing countries, and the strategic nature of this organization."
The Minister's participation in the 49th General Assembly of the Arab Satellite Communications Organization falls within the framework of "Algeria's vision aimed at strengthening Arab cooperation in the fields of communications, connectivity, digital sovereignty, and space technologies, serving regional development, resilience, and integration," according to the same source.
