The acting president of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), Karim Khelfane, supervised, via videoconference, a training day for the heads of all diplomatic and consular posts abroad, as well as their technical assistants. The session was dedicated to organizing a simulation of all the stages of the electoral operation relating to the July 2 legislative elections, an ANIE statement indicated on Thursday.
The proceedings of this training day, which was held in the presence of ANIE members and executives as well as executives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "took place in two phases: a morning session involving 61 diplomatic and consular posts and an evening session for another 61 diplomatic and consular posts," the same source specified.
During this training day, "a realistic and comprehensive simulation of all stages of the electoral process relating to the election of members of the National People's Assembly (APN) scheduled for July 2, 2026, was organized. This allowed for testing the procedures as well as the technical and organizational arrangements planned for polling day and verifying their preparation."
