July 2 Legislative Elections: Timelines Set for Ban on Publishing and Broadcasting Opinion Polls and Voter Intention Surveys

The National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE) stated that it is strictly prohibited to publish or broadcast opinion polls or voter intention surveys in any form, starting today for the electoral constituency of the national community residing abroad, and from Monday, June 29, 2026, for the electoral constituencies within the national territory, until the conclusion of polling day.

The Authority's statement noted: "Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 26-145 dated 16 Shawwal 1447, corresponding to April 4, 2026, which convenes the electorate for the election of members of the People's National Assembly on Thursday, July 2, 2026, and in accordance with the provisions of Article 81 of Ordinance No. 21-01 dated 26 Rajab 1442, corresponding to March 10, 2021, containing the Organic Law on the Electoral System, amended and supplemented, The Independent Authority notes that it is strictly prohibited to publish or broadcast opinion polls or voter intention surveys in any form, starting from Saturday, June 27, 2026, for the electoral constituency of the national community residing abroad, and from Monday, June 29, 2026, for the electoral constituencies within the national territory, until the conclusion of polling day."
