Minister of Communication Zoheir Bouamama received the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Algeria, Anuarbek Akhmetov, yesterday, Monday, a ministry statement indicated.
The meeting with Anuarbek Akhmetov, Kazakhstan's first ambassador to Algeria, provided an opportunity to discuss "the state and prospects of relations between the two countries in the field of information and communication, and to exchange views on ways to establish bilateral cooperation mechanisms between the Algerian Ministry of Communication and the Ministry of Information and Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as between the media institutions of the two countries," the statement specified.
On this occasion, both parties affirmed "their willingness and readiness to make all necessary efforts to strengthen the expected rapprochement between the two countries in the fields of information and communication, in line with the momentum currently characterizing relations between Algeria and Kazakhstan."
In this context, both parties "agreed to work jointly on drafting a bilateral cooperation agreement in the field of communication, and to accelerate the finalization of the draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Algeria Press Service (APS) and the Kazakhstan News Agency (Kazinform), in preparation for its signing as soon as possible," the statement noted.
