President of the Republic of Algeria: Visit of the President of the Republic of Niger Has Raised the Level of Brotherhood and Friendship Between the Two Countries

The President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed this Monday that the visit of the President of the Republic of Niger, Head of State, General Abdourahamane Tiani, to Algeria has raised the level of brotherhood and friendship between the two brotherly countries, and has also brought an end to an abnormal phase in bilateral relations.

 

In a joint statement with the President of the Republic of Niger, following their talks at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, the President of Algeria stated: “I express my pleasure and gratitude for receiving my esteemed brother, General Abdourahamane Tiani, on a visit we have been anticipating for some time, and which has now, thank God, taken place.”

 

The President of the Republic of Algeria added: “With this visit, we bring an end to an abnormal phase characterized by a cooling of relations between the two countries, even though the two peoples have continued to maintain their ties with one another”.

 

The President of the Republic of Algeria pointed out that the visit of the President of the Republic of Niger to Algeria “has raised the level of brotherhood and friendship between us as neighbors, brothers, and friends. We have agreed on all aspects of our security and energy cooperation, covering hydrocarbons and electricity, in addition to cooperation in the fields of vocational training, military training, and university education”.

 

The President of the Republic of Algeria continued, stating: “We will preserve the affection that has bound us to Niger for generations,” highlighting that the relationship connecting the two neighboring countries will serve as a model in Africa.

 

The President of the Republic pointed out that “it was agreed to launch the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project via Nigerien territory after the holy month of Ramadan, where Sonatrach will take the lead and begin laying the pipeline that passes through Niger”.
