The closing evening of the "Taj El Quran El Karim" program, organized by the Public Establishment of Algerian Television (EPTV), witnessed the crowning of the winners of the top three places in the fifteenth edition of the program.
In the male category, reciter Abderrahmane Taouche from the wilaya of Tiaret was crowned with the "Taj El Quran El Karim" in its 15th international edition for the 1447 AH / 2026 AD season. Reciter Mohamed Lahbib Zerouati took second place, and Fatah Babou took third place.
In the female category, Nour El Houda Aissani won first place, Asma Beltas took second place, and Nour El Houda Maysoon took third place.
The closing evening also saw the honoring of winners in the competition for people with special needs, organized by the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs. This initiative aims to encourage this category to memorize the Holy Book of Allah and highlight their capabilities in the field of recitation (Tilawa) and intonation (Tajweed).
In a statement to the media, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Dr. Youcef Belmehdi, explained that this fifteenth edition of the "Taj El Quran El Karim" program was distinguished by the participation of a significant number of reciters from brotherly Arab and friendly countries. This reflects the development of this competition and its gradual transition from a national dimension to a broader space with international radiance.
The Minister affirmed that Algeria abounds with distinguished Quranic competencies and successful models of memorizers of the Book of Allah, noting that many participants in the program were able to achieve honorable ranks in international competitions. This reflects the efforts made in the field of Quranic education across Quranic schools, Zawiyas, and religious institutions.
He also highlighted that these initiatives reflect the Algerian State's care for the Holy Quran and its teaching, in light of the patronage accorded by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, particularly regarding support for Quranic education and accompanying the category of people with special needs.
