Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired an interministerial council meeting on Wednesday dedicated to reviewing the 2026-2030 national cinema strategy, a statement from the Prime Minister's Office indicated on Thursday.
This strategy represents "a reference document based on the commitments of the President of the Republic and concretely translating his directives," the statement specified.
This reference document "is also based on the intellectual and pragmatic vision set forth by the President of the Republic in his speech during the National Conference on Cinema, held on January 19 and 20, 2025, as well as on its conclusions," the same source added.
"Based on a comprehensive approach that considers cinema as a national project where cultural, economic, investment, financial, communicational, and diplomatic dimensions intersect, this strategy aims to lay the foundations for a modern and competitive film industry, meeting the expectations of the Algerian public and injecting a new dynamic into film production," the statement concluded.
