The Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Holders announced on Sunday the opening of applications for the 31st edition of the November 1, 1954 National Prize competition. The prize is dedicated to works focusing on popular resistance, the National Movement, and the Liberation War. Submissions will be accepted until October 1, according to a statement from the National Center for Studies and Research on the National Movement and the Revolution of November 1, 1954 (CNERMN54).
"The competition is open to all those interested in national history and the preservation of national memory, provided that the participating work is original, unpublished, and has not been submitted to any other competition," the ministry emphasized.
The theme must focus on the "historical period related to popular resistance, the National Movement, and the Liberation War (1830–1962)," and "the work in question must be presented on a digital medium," the same source specified.
The competition categories include "historical research," "historical literature," as well as "historical audiovisual works and those created using artificial intelligence techniques."
The application dossier for the competition must include "a participation request mentioning the candidate’s address and telephone number," "a copy of the national identity card," "a descriptive sheet of the proposed work," and "the candidate’s curriculum vitae."
The final deadline for receiving works is set for October 1, 2026. Submissions must be delivered in a sealed envelope to the CNERMN54 headquarters or to the wilaya directorates of Mujahideen and Rights Holders.
Works may also be sent by mail to the CNERMN54 address: 63 Avenue de la Victoire du 23 novembre 1836, El Biar, Algiers.
