2026 World Cup: Algeria Falls to Argentina (0-3)

The Algerian national football team suffered a 0-3 defeat (half-time: 0-1) against Argentina in a match played during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The match was part of the first matchday of Group J in the 2026 World Cup (June 11 – July 19).

Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the 17th minute, before finding the back of the net again in the second half to double the lead (60th). The Albiceleste captain struck once more to complete a hat-trick (76th).

In the group’s other match, Austria and Jordan are set to face off this Wednesday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, San Francisco (5:00 AM Algerian time).

For the second matchday, Algeria will challenge Jordan on Tuesday, June 23, in Santa Clara (4:00 AM Algerian time), while Argentina will take on Austria on Monday, June 22, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (6:00 PM Algerian time).
