The seventeenth edition of the Sbeiba Cultural Festival will take place from June 22 to 26 in Djanet, organizers announced on Wednesday.
A rich cultural program aimed at highlighting, preserving, and promoting the region's authentic cultural heritage has been curated for this festival. The event will be held under the patronage of the Minister of Culture and Arts and the supervision of the Wali of Djanet, stated the festival's commissioner, Naceur Bekkar.
The program features folklore and popular arts performances, poetry and literary recitals, and study days focused on local cultural heritage. It also includes exhibitions of traditional handicrafts and dedicated spaces showcasing local heritage.
The organization of the Sbeiba festival—one of the premier cultural events in the southeast of the country—aims to contribute to the safeguarding of the region's intangible heritage and collective memory. Furthermore, it presents an opportunity to highlight the cultural diversity found in Djanet and to enhance its cultural and tourism appeal on both national and international scales, he emphasized.
