The Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the National People's Army, General of the Army, Mr. Saïd Chanegriha, presided this Sunday over the ceremony for the exchange of greetings on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defence.
The statement read: “General of the Army Mr. Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, presided this morning, March 22, 2026, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence, over the ceremony for the exchange of greetings on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr.
“The ceremony was attended by the General, Commander of the Land Forces, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the commanders of the Forces, the Republican Guard, and the National Gendarmerie, as well as the Director of the Cabinet at the Ministry of National Defence, the Commander of the First Military Region, heads of departments, the General Inspector of the Army, and directors and heads of central services at the Ministry of National Defence and the Staff of the National People’s Army”.
On this occasion, General of the Army Chanegriha was keen to extend his sincere congratulations to the attendees and, through them, to their families and loved ones, as well as to all members of the National People's Army.
He stated in this regard: “I am pleased to extend to you, and through you to all personnel of the National People’s Army and their families, my sincerest congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of our country’s celebration of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr. I pray to the Almighty that He may return such religious occasions to all of us with goodness and blessings and to our dear country with further growth and prosperity under the shade of security and stability”.
He added in the same context: “I also wish to congratulate you on the occasion of our country's commemoration of the 64th anniversary of Victory Day (Eid En-Nasr). This timeless historical anniversary reminds us of that great victory over the brutal colonizer, achieved through the sacrifices of millions of Algeria’s brave men and women”.
General of the Army Chanegriha also emphasized, on this occasion, the “necessity of understanding the implications of the rapid geopolitical shifts currently unfolding in the international situation”.
He added in this regard: “Our celebration of these two occasions comes in the context of rapid and dangerous geopolitical shifts in the current international situation, characterized by the return of the war option and military interventions, the declining status of multilateral organizations, and the disregard for the rules of international law, which impacts the sovereignty of nations and their national choices”.
Consequently, General of the Army Chanegriha added: “Everyone must raise their awareness, with high professionalism and insightful proactivity, regarding the profound geopolitical transformations the world is experiencing, particularly their implications for the Global South,' according to the statement”.
