The Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nacima Arhab, held a working meeting with her Nigerien counterpart, Farmo Moumouni, in the capital Niamey, dedicated to examining ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of vocational training, a ministry statement indicated this Wednesday.

This meeting was held on Tuesday, as part of the proceedings of the second session of the Algerian-Nigerien High Joint Commission for Cooperation. The session was co-chaired by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb and his Nigerien counterpart, Ali Lamine Zeine, on March 23 and 24 at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center in Niamey, the same source specified.

The meeting between Ms. Arhab and her Nigerien counterpart provided an opportunity to "establish a common roadmap with specific deadlines, focused primarily on the training of trainers and the enhancement of their skills, the exchange of pedagogical documents, and technical support in the rehabilitation and extension process of the Algerian-Nigerien Friendship Vocational High School in Zinder."

It was also agreed to "transfer the Algerian experience in the creation and management of entrepreneurship development centers (CDE) within vocational training and education establishments, and to strengthen cooperation in the field of online education, distance learning, and the development of its tools."

This direction reflects, according to the statement, "a shared desire to move from the exchange of expertise to the implementation of concrete projects, contributing to the modernization of vocational training systems and the improvement of the quality of their outcomes, in line with the labor market requirements in both countries."
