The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mohamed Arkab, received on Sunday in Algiers the President of the Iranian company Industrial Pioneers Farayand Co. (IPF), Faramarz Ekhteraei, with whom he examined prospects for cooperation and investment in the hydrocarbons field, a ministry statement indicated.
The meeting, which took place at the ministry's headquarters in the presence of the President of the Hydrocarbon Regulatory Authority (ARH), Amine Remini, sector executives, and the executive director of the Iranian company, allowed for the examination of cooperation and investment opportunities between the Sonatrach group and IPF. These discussions covered the oil and gas industry, industrial engineering, and the execution of energy projects, notably in refining, petrochemicals, and the production of high-value-added petrochemical products—specifically polypropylene and its derivatives. They also focused on the development of processing facilities, the improvement of industrial performance, and the strengthening of production and processing capacities.
The two parties also discussed partnership prospects in the design and construction of specialized industrial units, the development of equipment for the oil and gas industry, industrial water treatment, and the integration of modern technological solutions at all stages of production and processing. These efforts aim to enhance operational efficiency and generate greater added value for the national economy.
On this occasion, Mr. Arkab highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation with the Iranian company, given its technical expertise, as well as its industrial and engineering capabilities in executing energy and industrial projects. He invited the company to strengthen its presence in Algeria and intensify its contacts with the Sonatrach group and national enterprises to explore available investment and partnership opportunities, particularly in projects related to refining, petrochemicals, and the development of industrial infrastructure.
Mr. Arkab also insisted on the importance of transferring technology and expertise, encouraging local production, and developing national skills, in accordance with the sector's strategy aimed at strengthening local content and promoting the national industrial fabric.
For his part, Mr. Ekhteraei expressed the company's interest in consolidating its presence in the Algerian market and developing long-term partnerships with the Sonatrach group and national companies. He emphasized the company's readiness to place its expertise in engineering, industrial design, and energy project execution at the service of development programs in Algeria's hydrocarbons sector, and to contribute to the realization of high-value-added industrial projects based on the latest technologies and innovative solutions.
The IPF delegation also reviewed the technical and industrial capabilities the company possesses, particularly in the fields of engineering, procurement, and the execution of industrial projects, in addition to the design and equipping of processing and transformation units in the oil, gas, and chemical industries. They expressed the company's desire to explore new cooperation opportunities in Algeria within the framework of partnerships based on mutual interest, as well as on the transfer of knowledge and technologies.
