The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, began a two-day working visit to Abidjan this Monday. This visit is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen Algerian-Ivorian bilateral cooperation, which has seen remarkable momentum in recent months, according to a ministry statement.

Mr. Adjal will be received by the Ivorian Prime Minister and will also preside over the signing ceremony of a governmental cooperation agreement between Algeria and Côte d'Ivoire in the field of energy and renewable energies. This agreement embodies "the shared commitment of both parties to develop a mutually beneficial energy partnership, establishing the legal and institutional framework that will regulate the cooperation activities and projects planned between the two countries in the energy sector," the source noted.

The statement recalled the visit made by Mr. Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, Côte d'Ivoire's Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, to Algeria last March. His discussions with Mr. Adjal "paved the way for laying the foundations for cooperation aimed at building a long-term strategic partnership in the energy and renewable energies sectors."

It also highlighted the visit of a delegation of Ivorian experts to Algeria last May. This visit provided an opportunity for a field assessment of Algeria's capabilities and expertise across the entire energy industry value chain, as well as a chance to discuss opportunities for technical and institutional cooperation between agencies and companies operating in the energy sectors of both countries.
