The President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, offered his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy this Sunday to the family of the former Minister and Member of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Chems Eddine Chitour, who passed away at the age of 82.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Algeria and the Republic of Niger, exploring ways to strengthen them to meet broader aspirations, while also discussing prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to address parliamentary relations, contributing to the enhancement of consultation and coordination between the two legislative institutions of both countries.
The condolence message stated: “I received with great sorrow the news of the passing of the late Professor Chems Eddine Chitour, whose departure marks the loss of one of Algeria's most prominent academics. He had a distinguished scientific career characterized by academic contributions and research that have risen to become university references utilized by students and specialists in universities and research centers.”
He added that “the deceased, who held the portfolios of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Energy Transition and Renewable Energies, and was later appointed as a member of the Council of the Nation within the presidential third, demonstrated scientific prowess, high competence, and a national commitment that bear witness to his prestigious scientific status and his loyalty to Algeria.”
“The President of the Republic of Algeria concluded by saying: 'In the face of this great loss, we extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to his honorable family, his relatives, the university community, and his colleagues in the Council of the Nation. We pray to Almighty Allah to grant him His vast mercy and to inspire everyone with patience and solace.
