The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, while chairing a meeting of the Council of Ministers this Sunday, ordered the implementation of two sections of the Trans-Saharan Road and the construction of a cement plant in the Republic of Chad.
According to the Council of Ministers statement, after hearing a presentation on the follow-up of bilateral cooperation agreements concluded with Chad, the President "stressed the need to strengthen all areas of cooperation with the brotherly nation of Chad and to approve new economic projects in the fields of energy, electricity generation, and oil exploration." He also called for "accelerating the establishment of a cement plant with an annual production capacity exceeding one million tons."
Furthermore, the President ordered "the immediate construction of two sections of the Trans-Saharan Road by Algerian companies to complete the remaining portion on Chadian territory." This initiative aims to "increase trade and economic exchanges between the two countries," the statement concluded.
