A joint ministerial decree has been published in the 35th issue of the Official Gazette, defining the management modalities of the economic information system on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as a tool for forecasting and decision-making support.
This refers to the ministerial decree signed on March 12 by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, the Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, and the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts.
This system, which will be managed by the Algerian Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Innovation Promotion, aims to collect, process, and disseminate information related to small and medium enterprises.
This system will be supplied with updated data provided notably by the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, the National Office of Statistics, the National Center of the Commercial Register, the National Social Security Fund for Salaried Workers, the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions, the Directorate General of Taxes, and the Directorate General of Customs.
The new decree also provides for the creation of a coordination and follow-up committee under the ministry in charge of small and medium enterprises, tasked with ensuring intersectoral coordination regarding information exchange and evaluating the exchange process.
On the other hand, the Agency must establish a digital service on its website that allows access to information related to small and medium enterprises for the benefit of both the entities contributing to the system's data supply and economic operators.
Furthermore, the Agency will be responsible for publishing general information on its website regarding the status and development of the small and medium enterprise landscape in Algeria, according to the same text.
