The Grand Caliph of the Tijaniyya Faydah in Senegal, Sheikh Mohamed El Mahi Ibrahim Niass, praised on Tuesday the prominent role of Algeria in supporting the just causes of Muslims worldwide and in spreading the teachings of the true Islamic religion across the African continent.

In a press statement following his reception, along with his accompanying delegation, by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Sheikh Mohamed El Mahi Ibrahim Niass stated that Algeria is "a strong and great state, considered a homeland and a pillar of support for Muslims everywhere." He noted that his visit falls within the framework of "strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between the Algerian people and the rest of the African peoples."

In this regard, he highlighted Algeria's important role in spreading the teachings of the Islamic religion across the African continent by supporting efforts to teach the Holy Quran and religious sciences.

He explained that the Tijaniyya Tariqa, whose founding roots trace back to Algeria, "has served Islam immensely," adding that "more than 400 million Muslims are affiliated with this order," which he described as "a path of knowledge and drawing closer to Allah."

On the same occasion, the Grand Caliph commended "Algeria's advocacy for the causes of Muslims in the world," stemming from its status as "a state of struggle and liberation, which has taught the world an important lesson in defending the homeland, Islam, and freedom."
