The Minister of Vocational Education and Training, Ms. Nassima Arhab, discussed with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Algeria, Mr. Georg Felsheim, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of vocational training, according to a ministry statement released this Wednesday.
The same source explained that Ms. Arhab received the German Ambassador to Algeria yesterday, Tuesday, at the ministry's headquarters. The two parties discussed "prospects for expanding cooperation into several areas, particularly regarding applied training and linking training to the economic environment, developing certification and competency systems, pedagogical engineering, and modernizing training systems."
This meeting reflects the "shared will to elevate Algerian-German cooperation to more ambitious and effective levels," within the framework of an operational action plan aimed at "enhancing the efficiency of implementing joint programs, supporting the development of skills and competencies, and consolidating Algeria's position as a regional hub in the field of vocational training."
Based on this, the meeting provided an opportunity to "emphasize the importance of partnerships between training institutions and the economic sector, especially regarding centers of excellence in vocational training."
On the same occasion, the two sides also affirmed the importance of "adopting a competency-based approach as a strategic choice to modernize training programs," in addition to "strengthening twinning programs between training institutions in the two countries, which allows for the exchange of expertise and raises the quality of training," according to the same source.
