On Sunday evening, the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message of condolence on the passing of the Mujahid and scholar, Si El Hadj Mohand Tayeb.
This came in a post on the official Facebook page of the Presidency of the Republic.
The text of the message read:
"With deep sadness and sorrow, and with hearts believing in Allah's decree and destiny, I received the news of the passing of the late, by the will of Allah, Sheikh Si El Hadj Mohand Tayeb."
The President continued: "May Allah have mercy on him and bless his soul, the Mujahid, one of Algeria's loyal figures, and the translator of the meanings of the Holy Quran into the Amazigh language."
The President of the Republic added: "On this momentous loss, I extend my deepest condolences and most sincere feelings of sympathy to the family of the deceased and to the revolutionary community."
"And I pray to Almighty God to cover him with His vast mercy and forgiveness, to grant him a place in His spacious paradise, and to inspire his family and loved ones with beautiful patience and solace."
To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
