The General Directorate of Communication at the Presidency of the Republic expressed on Thursday its condolences following the passing of the esteemed sports journalist Mohamed Bouchama.
The message of condolence read: "With great sadness and sorrow, the General Directorate of Communication at the Presidency of the Republic received the news of the passing of the talented sports journalist Mohamed Bouchama."
The text added: "The deceased was one of the most prominent names who left a mark on the path of national sports journalism. His name has been associated with the newspaper *Le Soir d'Algérie* since he joined it in the 1990s, where he was known for his high professionalism, great credibility, and sober journalistic style. This earned him a prestigious position in the Algerian media landscape, leaving a distinguished imprint in the field of sports journalism through a career full of giving and commitment."
With the passing of the deceased, the text continued, "the Algerian media family loses a prominent figure and a prolific pen who contributed over decades to establishing the values of professionalism in journalistic work. He accompanied the various stages of the development of Algerian sports with competence and ability, distinguished by his high-quality coverage of many national and international sporting events, serving as a witness to its achievements and a faithful chronicler of its journey for public opinion."
