An art exhibition titled "Spectrum of Colors" by the visual artist Latifa Boulfoul opened on Thursday in Algiers. The showcase features abstract works with an impressionistic spirit, radiating with color and diving into the details of her private world with dreamy touches.

Hosted at the "Baya" Gallery within the Moufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture, the exhibition reflects the richness and diversity of Boulfoul’s career. She presents over 30 large-scale paintings, rendered with passion and aesthetic flair in acrylics. These works embody the artist's refined creative touch and her deep perspective on the utility of art in depicting beauty and the reflections of life's events on the human soul.

The exhibition offers visitors a chance to explore the journey of the artist, who studied at the School of Fine Arts in Constantine (1972-1976), then at the School of Fine Arts in Algiers (1977-1979), and later in Italy. Her work is deeply influenced by the techniques of the abstract and impressionist schools, addressing psychological details that have captivated her since childhood—an influence evident in her choice to leave her paintings untitled.

Vibrant, flowing colors, such as various shades of pink, yellow, orange, red, and blue dominate most of her work, expressing the internal questions of her soul. Through her brush, she captures aspects of her interaction with nature and her life experiences.

Latifa Boulfoul excels in designing works with luminous touches, transforming them into symbols drawn from deep psychological dimensions. Her spirit is also inspired by the Mediterranean shores, using harmonious colors and exquisite geometric shapes in unique compositions that encourage the viewer to "read" the canvas.

Regarding her work, Latifa Boulfoul noted: "The works on display were completed during the current year and are a continuation of the evolution of my artistic experience and passion for visual arts. It is also an opportunity to present my creations to the public." She added that her choice of abstract art "stems from the freedom this technique provides to create a different kind of work, allowing for the expression of immediate feelings and emotions. I try to involve the viewer in reading and interpreting my works according to their personal perspective, which is why I did not attach any titles to my paintings."

Latifa Boulfoul has participated in numerous exhibitions within Algeria and abroad since 1974 and has received several awards and honors. The exhibition will remain open until July 4.
