The President of the Algerian Organization for Trade and Social Investment, Djaber Ben Sedira, praised the visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to Algeria, stating that it holds special significance as it comes after years of tension in relations between the two countries.

Ben Sedira, who was a guest on the "Economie Multimedia" program, described the visit as a golden opportunity to restore relations and transactions, particularly on the economic front, noting that Spanish investors constitute a vital pillar in trade exchanges between the two countries.

He added that Spain has now realized that Algeria is an indispensable economic partner, especially given the favorable business climate it provides through incentives such as tax and customs exemptions and streamlined export processes—factors that have been highly welcomed by Spanish economic operators.

Furthermore, Spanish shipping companies have signed several agreements with the Port of Algiers, viewing it as a gateway to Africa and a major transit point for exporting Spanish goods and products to the continent, such as via the Algiers-Nouakchott-Nouadhibou-Dakar maritime route.

Ben Sedira also highlighted the importance of the Algerian market to the Spanish, which has led five Spanish chambers of commerce to visit Algeria successively in search of trade and investment opportunities.

He explained that Algeria has now become a key player in the Spanish market through the export of various national products, such as dates, olive oil, fruits, and ceramics, among others, placing Algeria on a win-win path with the Spanish side.
