The Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs has mobilized all community solidarity cells through the Social Development Agency (SDA) to ensure care and support for victims in fire-affected areas across the country, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
"In implementation of the instructions of the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs, Soraya Mouloudji, regarding the mobilization of the necessary human and logistical resources to support state efforts against the forest fires that affected several wilayas of the country, the ministry has engaged, through the SDA, all community solidarity cells, which consist of multidisciplinary specialists, to intervene on the ground and provide psychosocial care to affected citizens," the statement specified.
"These teams have begun their interventions on the ground in coordination with local authorities, participating alongside various relevant services in inspecting the affected areas, assessing damage and losses, identifying urgent social needs, as well as supporting affected families and citizens, leveraging their expertise in primary psychological support during disasters," the text added.
Under this framework, these same teams are working to "provide psychological support and care to the impacted families, accompanied by in-kind aid when necessary. They also ensure the support and psychosocial care of preventively evacuated citizens, in addition to conducting social assessments of affected families to determine and address their social needs."
This also involves "contributing to the registration and guidance of affected families and farmers in anticipation of damage assessment and compensation, while continuing the inventory of affected social cases to assist them under social aid mechanisms, in coordination with local authorities and civil society organizations."
The monitoring of these interventions "is carried out daily at the central level" through a monitoring unit established within the ADS, which prepares regular reports "ensuring real-time monitoring of developments on the ground, strengthening coordination, and taking necessary measures according to the demands of the situation."
The intervention of these community solidarity cells has covered several areas within the wilayas of Guelma, Sétif, Annaba, Skikda, and Bouira, where their services remain "in a state of permanent mobilization."
