The Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi, held bilateral talks with the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ms. Hind Kabawat, during the 114th session of the International Labour Conference, held in Geneva from June 1 to 12, 2026, according to a ministry statement on Thursday.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the fields of social protection and labor, as well as to review ways to enhance the exchange of expertise and develop joint cooperation mechanisms.
In this regard, Minister Hind Kabawat expressed her country’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Algeria and benefiting from its experience in social protection and labor, emphasizing her commitment to expanding consultation and coordination channels.
For his part, Minister Saihi reaffirmed "Algeria's readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Syrian Arab Republic in areas of common interest, reflecting the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries and serving the mutual interests of both peoples," the statement concluded.
