The provisional bureau of the People's National Assembly (APN) convened on Sunday to define the agenda for the opening session of the tenth legislative term and discuss the procedures for establishing the membership validation committee, according to an official statement from the assembly.
The statement specified that the meeting was chaired by the oldest newly elected member of parliament, assisted by the youngest, and was attended by representatives of political parties and independents who won seats in the recent legislative elections and "meet the requirements to form parliamentary groups."
According to the same source, the session was specifically dedicated to "setting the agenda for the inaugural session of the tenth legislative term, as well as discussing the logistical procedures for forming the credentials and membership validation committee."
