The Minister of Vocational Education and Training, Mrs. Nacima Arhab, held talks in Cairo with the State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Romania, Sorin Ion, during which they discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise and experiences between the two countries in the fields of vocational education, training, and skills development, according to a statement from the Ministry issued today, Saturday.
During this meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Mediterranean Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Forum, Mrs. Arhab reviewed the "strategic vision pursued by Algeria to develop the vocational education and training system. This is being achieved through upgrading and modernizing the training system, expanding access to quality training, and aligning training opportunities with promising fields linked to digital transformation, the green economy, and modern industries."
The Minister also highlighted—the statement added—Algeria's efforts in "encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among youth, and strengthening partnerships with various economic actors to ensure the alignment of training with labor market needs."
For his part, Mr. Sorin Ion praised the "efforts made by Algeria to develop its vocational education and training system. He also reviewed the Romanian experience in the field of skills development and strengthening the link between training outcomes and the needs of the national economy."
The meeting served as an "opportunity to exchange views on shared challenges related to qualifying human resources in light of technological and economic transformations," where both sides emphasized "the importance of intensifying cooperation and exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest, and working to build effective partnerships that contribute to developing the vocational education and training systems between the two countries," according to the same statement.
