The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mourad Adjal, was received yesterday, Monday in Abidjan, by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Robert Beugré Mambé, within the framework of the working visit he is conducting to this country, according to a ministry statement.

In a press statement following the reception, Mr. Adjal emphasized that this meeting allowed for a review of the prospects for bilateral cooperation and partnership in the energy field, particularly Algeria's contribution to developing electrical infrastructure in Côte d'Ivoire.

The talks between the two sides, the minister added, provided an opportunity to discuss hosting Ivorian delegations for training at schools and institutes affiliated with Sonelgaz.

The feasibility of establishing an "Algerian-Ivorian joint venture for manufacturing electrical and gas hardware and equipment in Côte d'Ivoire" was also examined, according to the minister.

Included in the program of Mr. Adjal’s two-day visit to the State of Côte d'Ivoire is the signing of an intergovernmental cooperation agreement between the two countries in the field of energy and renewable energies, embodying the "joint commitment of both parties to develop a mutually beneficial energy partnership, and establishing the legal and institutional framework that will regulate the cooperation activities and projects planned between the two countries in the energy sector."

This working visit, the ministry emphasizes, comes within the framework of further strengthening Algerian-Ivorian bilateral cooperation, which has witnessed a remarkable dynamism over the past months.
