The national community residing in the Arab Republic of Egypt began casting their ballots today, Tuesday, for the legislative elections scheduled for July 2, 2026, amid tightly controlled organizational and logistical conditions aimed at ensuring the voting process runs under the best possible circumstances.

The voting process, which will continue until next Thursday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, is taking place across two polling stations: the first at the headquarters of the Embassy of Algeria in Cairo, which includes 1,611 registered voters, and the second in the city of Alexandria, which includes 228 registered voters.

The polling station in Cairo witnessed a remarkable turnout from members of the community residing in various Egyptian governorates, despite the high temperatures, with a significant presence of youth and women.

All necessary resources have been mobilized to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process, both through staffing the two polling stations and providing the organizational and technical means capable of enabling voters to fulfill their duty under the best conditions.

The coordinator of the fourth geographical zone of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), Nabil Nagga, confirmed in a statement to APS that his body "has adopted a comprehensive strategy for these elections that combines the highest professional standards with the latest digital transformation techniques," noting the mobilization of "all resources to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process, both through staffing the two polling stations and providing the organizational and technical means capable of enabling voters to fulfill their electoral duty under the best conditions."

The number of the electorate at the voting center in Egypt reached 1,839 voters (1,611 at the Cairo office and 228 at the Alexandria office) out of a total of 30,727 voters across the fourth zone, which covers the African continent.

The country's highest authorities attach "paramount importance" to the national community abroad, following the decision to increase the number of seats allocated to it from 8 to 12 seats, a step aimed at embodying better representation and granting it a larger space in parliamentary representation.
