The Minister of Youth, in charge of the Higher Youth Council, Mr. Mustapha Hidaoui, highlighted his sector's commitment to transforming summer camps into integrated spaces for education and recreation, as well as an opportunity to discover and invest in talent, according to a ministry statement released this Wednesday.
The same source explained that while overseeing the launch of "Intelligence Games Day"—part of the 2026 National Summer Camp Program—on Tuesday at the Holiday and Leisure Center in Zeralda (Algiers), Mr. Hidaoui affirmed that the Ministry continues, through these activities, to materialize its vision aimed at "making summer camps integrated spaces for education and recreation that go beyond the traditional concept of a summer vacation."
On this occasion, he highlighted the sector's efforts to ensure summer camps serve as a "safe educational environment that contributes to building the character of children and adolescents, developing their knowledge and skills, and consolidating their system of national and human values, in addition to fostering a culture of citizenship, civic duty, and a spirit of participation and cooperation."
In the same context, he discussed this year's National Summer Camp Program, noting that it "has seen qualitative enrichment through the inclusion of modern educational and intellectual activities tailored to the interests of children and adolescents. These keep pace with current transformations to strengthen their connection to a positive environment that stimulates learning and creativity, while contributing to the discovery of their talents, the investment in their abilities, and the development of their potential across various fields."
Speaking about intelligence games, Mr. Hidaoui stated that they "constitute one of the fundamental pillars of this approach, given their role in developing logical thinking, analysis, and deduction, as well as enhancing focus, communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills. This aligns with the sector's objectives of preparing a conscious and creative generation that remains attached to its national values and is capable of interacting positively with its surroundings."
It is worth noting that the Ministry's organization—through the National Agency for Youth Leisure—of "Intelligence Games Day" on Tuesday evening across all holiday and leisure centers falls within the framework of "implementing the 2026 National Summer Camp Program, and serves as a consecration of the educational approach adopted by the sector to enrich daily life at the camps."
The Ministry of Youth continues to work on "providing integrated educational and recreational content that ensures children and adolescents enjoy a safe summer holiday rich in experiences. This transforms the camps into true spaces for training, self-discovery, talent development, and investing in the promising potential of rising generations," the statement concluded.
