The President of the Republic of Algeria, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, departed this Saturday from the Palace of the People (Algiers), after overseeing the annual ceremony for promoting ranks and awarding decorations to a number of general officers, senior officers, and civilian personnel in the People's National Army (ANP). This took place on the eve of the celebrations marking the 64th anniversary of Independence Day and the restoration of national sovereignty.
Upon his departure from the Palace of the People, the President of the Republic was seen off by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha.
The President of the Republic listened to the national anthem before reviewing detachments from the various armed forces of the People's National Army that rendered him military honors, after which he shook hands with the departing senior officials and officers of the military institution.
