The 64th Anniversary of Independence Day: President of the Republic Chairs a Reception at the National Army Club

The President of the Republic of Algeria, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired this Sunday evening at the National Army Club in Beni Messous (Algiers) a reception held in honor of senior active and retired officers of the People's National Army, in the presence of several senior state officials, on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of Independence Day and the restoration of national sovereignty, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defence.

The President of the Republic was welcomed at the entrance of the National Army Club by General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army.

"This ceremony, which falls within the long-standing traditions of the People's National Army aimed at honoring our glorious historical milestones and commemorating the souls of our righteous martyrs, was attended by the President of the Council of the Nation, the President of the People's National Assembly, the Prime Minister, the President of the Constitutional Court, members of the Government, and advisors to the President of the Republic," the statement added. "It was also attended by the General, Commander of the Land Forces, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defense, Commanders of the Forces, the Director of the Cabinet at the Ministry of National Defence, the Commander of the First Military Region, Heads of Departments, the Inspector General of the Army, as well as Directors and Chiefs of Central Services at the Ministry of National Defense and the Staff of the People's National Army, alongside senior state officials, national figures, mujahideen, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria."

During this ceremony, the attendees listened to the national anthem and renditions of patriotic songs performed by the musical bands of the Republican Guard Command. Following this, they watched a documentary film entitled: "On the Covenant of Fidelity... From the Sacrifices of the Martyrs... to the Battle of Development," produced by the Directorate of Information and Communication of the People's National Army Staff. The ceremony concluded with festive firework displays to mark the occasion, according to the same source.
