The Algerian national team drew 0–0 with its Sudanese counterpart on Wednesday at the Ahmad ben Ali Stadium in Doha, in the first round of Group D matches of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 (held from December 1 to 18).
Despite being a man down throughout the entire second half, following the dismissal of Adam Ounas, who received two yellow cards shortly before halftime, the ‘Greens’ managed to secure a valuable point against a well-organized and strong Sudanese side.
In the group’s second match, Iraq will take on Bahrain at 15:30 (Algeria time) at Stadium 974.
Madjid Bougherra’s men will play their second match next Saturday at 14:30 against Bahrain, before concluding the group stage with a clash against Iraq on Tuesday at 18:00.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals, scheduled for December 11 and 12.
The tournament winner will receive a prize exceeding 7 million USD, while the runner-up will earn more than 4 million USD.
