UN Secretary-General António Guterres called on Wednesday for the construction of a world grounded in equality and peace, urging a shift away from division in favor of tolerance.
In a post on his official social media account marking the International Day of Human Fraternity, observed annually on February 4, the UN chief noted that on this occasion, "we celebrate equality, dignity, and mutual understanding."
In this regard, he called for "rejecting fear and division, in favor of tolerance, curiosity, and respect for diversity," with the aim of "building a world based on equal rights for all and living in peace as one human family."
