Commissioned by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, is beginning a working visit to the Republic of Burkina Faso from February 12 to 14, 2026, leading a high-level delegation.
The delegation includes the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mourad Adjal, the Chairman and CEO of Sonatrach Group, Mr. Noureddine Daoudi, and the Chairman and CEO of Naftal Company, Mr. Djamal Cherdoud, along with a number of officials from the hydrocarbons, mines, energy, and renewable energies sectors.
This visit falls within the framework of efforts aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation relations between Algeria and Burkina Faso, particularly in the fields of energy, mines, and hydrocarbons. It will serve as an opportunity to expand the horizons of joint cooperation and ways to develop it, as well as to exchange experiences and transfer Algerian expertise. This aims to strengthen the African dimension and South-South cooperation, and contributes to supporting efforts to make the energy sector a strategic driver for sustainable economic and social development on the African continent.
The ministers and the accompanying delegation will hold a series of bilateral meetings with several members of the Burkinabé government, notably the Minister of Energy, Mines, and Quarries, Mr. Yacouba Zabré Gouba, as well as the heads of several Burkinabé companies, particularly those active in the fields of energy, mines, and industry. These meetings aim to discuss cooperation prospects, enhance partnership opportunities, and exchange expertise and experiences.
